This in-person event will be held at the University of West of England (Frenchay Campus). Lunch will be provided, and complimentary car parking will be available at the venue. Guest speakers Paul Miller, Chair of Avon and Wiltshire Partnership Mental Health Trust and Kimberley Fuller (Child and Adolescent Integrative Psychotherapist and counsellor). During this event, Barnardo’s Black and Brown Minds Matter group will launch their mental health awareness raising film ‘What’s the Taboo for you?’ which highlights the different stigmas of mental health in racialised communities.
There will be insights and solutions from lived experience for improving Mental health services to tackle mental health inequalities disproportionately affecting Black and Brown young people. Giving insight into the benefits of co-production to both services and young people; through demonstration of work the group are doing with CAMHS.
